Hussain Van Roos

Hussain van Roos is a Soweto born and bred creative. Having spent a few years with one of South Africa’s biggest financial institutions, he could feel his artistic and creative drive hitting a wall.

This subsequently led him venturing into the creative and marketing space through a venture known as Fixin Diaries ( A Social Cycling Company)  and IAM Hussain (A brand and lifestyle consulting firm), through these two initiatives he partnered up with British brand Ben Sherman and became their only and first  Brand Ambassador from and for the African Continent. During this partnership he conceptualized and created an award-winning legacy campaign employing his history and heritage around his upbringing as the main driving force.

He holds the ability to creatively link and showcase brands from completely different industries, namely, automotive, fashion, hospitality, television to name a few. When asked how he manages this, he responds by saying ; “creativity is everyday life, thus its easier to link brands and industries that you consume in your own way of life with ease because you want them to fit your life and not be forced, this allows for me to able to organically create concepts and ideas”.

Having established himself in the business of lifestyle he was then approached by Martell Cognac (A French Luxury Maison) to become their Lifestyle Brand Ambassador within South Africa, accompanied by its two sister champagne maison’s, G.H. Mumm and Perrier Jouet.

Through this role he managed to create another award-winning influencer campaign with South African based artist Lazi Mathebula and his local agency Moonwalk. This campaign scooped a bronze award at the Bookmark Awards in the Community Category for Influencer Marketing among several other awards in the industry.

Over the years Hussain has always maintained that he loves what he does because of the people factor in his role, getting to meet, engage and share a cognac with, is what gets him out of bed and drives him to pioneer every part of his work. He is currently working with the Ghana affiliate for Martell Cognac, conceptualizing a new story around Martell and one of Ghana’s biggest hip hop MC and is setting his eyes on the Lagos market as well, because AFRICA is the next big boom
