Shimza’s One Man Show “Lockdown Edition”
As South Africa and the world are facing their greatest challenge with COVID-19. One of the best responses to date has been the solidarity shown by citizens the world over, helping each other in these trying times. Shimza launched his philanthropic One Man Show in Tembisa, South Africa to raise funds for underprivileged children and has grown the initiative, turning his attention to raising funds for the Solidarity Fund. The Solidarity Fund’s focus is on identifying health and humanitarian risks and to coordinate activities or fund initiatives that augment and support the work of government and other social partners in the fight against COVID-19.
In partnership with MTV-Base a special broadcast will be flighted on Tuesday 16th June 2020, to coincide with Youth Day. It will be a 2 hour special of Shimza playing a set at the iconic Nelson Mandela statue at the Union Buildings encouraging young people to look beyond Covid-19 and be in the forefront of reimagining a new future and creating new opportunities. His target is to raise R100K for the Solidarity Fund in aid of assisting South Africans impacted by COVID-19.
